10 years of diversity: Intercultural festival in Steglitz-Zehlendorf 2024

in Steglitz-Zehlendorf a very special event will be celebrated on September 6, 2024: the 10th Intercultural Festival on Hermann-Ehrens-Platz. From 3 p.m. to 7 p.m., visitors can expect a varied program to bring people together under the motto of diversity. District Mayor Maren Schellenberg will open the festival and emphasizes the importance of such an event for the community.

"This anniversary will be our market of possibilities than ever," explains Schellenberg. "In addition to the established actors, newly founded clubs and migrant organizations also present their projects and offers. This illustrates the steadily growing and active variety in our district." The festival is not just a festival of encounter; It also creates spaces for exchange and promoting a democratic coexistence.

Versatile program and intercultural weeks

Festival also opens up this year's intercultural weeks in the district, which will take place for the first time between September 6th and 29th. In cooperation with the district partnership for democracy, the district office's integration office has called on to register various events and promotions. The citizens can find an overview of the entire event program on the official website of the Steglitz-Zehlendorf district office.

As part of the nationwide intercultural weeks alone, more than 500 cities and municipalities take part with a total of around 5,000 events. These events form a large platform for promoting and celebrating cultural diversity in Germany. The festival on Hermann-Ehrens-Platz will be an excellent opportunity for citizens to make new acquaintances and to exchange ideas about various cultural backgrounds.

Admission to the intercultural festival is free, which makes participation easier for a wider public. Different cultural performances are offered at different stands, so that there is something for every taste.
