Hidden Champions Pope, climate pioneers and AI visionaries: press conference for Innovator of the Year
Four press conferences on Friday morning, November 14th, at the Federal Press Conference House will provide concentrated insights into the innovation activities of the German economy. The occasion is the “Innovator of the Year” awards ceremony, the largest audience award in the German-speaking economy, taking place on the evening of November 14th at the Hilton on Gendarmenmarkt.
Selected award winners present their innovative projects to the press in advance, comment on the economic situation and are available for questions and subsequent interviews:
Prof. Dr. Hermann Simon is this year's honorary winner of the award. As one of the most influential German management thinkers and founder of the concept of hidden champions, he oversees the opportunities and challenges in a changing globalized economy.
Represented are award winners from the segment of custom manufacturers who, as the manufacturing core of the German economy, implement innovations in concrete products and systems, including one of the oldest industrial companies in Germany, as well as from the sustainability sector with the “Green Innovator of the Year”
AI in municipalities: A group of officials, scientists and developers from the “Urban AI” project is dedicated to the innovative use of artificial intelligence to address challenges faced by cities and communities
Successful women in medium-sized businesses: Managing directors and founders from successful medium-sized companies report on sustainable, successful and diverse corporate management.
The four press conferences will take place on November 14th, 2025 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Federal Press Conference House in Berlin. The press office of the Innovator of the Year will be happy to receive the exact program, accreditations and special requests such as individual interviews.
At the Ceremony on the evening of November 14th. In front of 400 guests, among others, Dr. Reinhard Zinkann (Miele), Professor Dr. Jörg Rocholl (European School of Management & Technology), Frank Dopheide (former CEO Handelsblatt) and Dr. Dr. Rainer Zitelmann (Journalism Prize) can be seen on stage.
The Innovator of the Year is the largest audience award in the German economy. Innovative products, processes and locations across all industries, all company sizes and all forms of innovation are available to choose from every year.
