Traffic chaos in Köpenick: BVG timetable stops due to construction work!
In Berlin, the citizens have been alerted by strong storms. The fire brigade has been in a state of emergency since Friday after over 100 weather -related operations were reported within a very short time. Especially in the southeast of the city, there were considerable damage caused by water break -ins and fallen trees. Special problems occurred in Friedrichshagen, where several streets were flooded and a tree in Charlottenstrasse overturned, such as the daily mirror reported. In Adlershof the fire brigade was challenged to remove a 15 -meter -high tree that was no longer stable.
In addition to the storm damage, a construction site in Köpenick also ensures massive restrictions in local public transport. The BVG trams and buses have been affected in this area since November 25th and until December 8th. In some cases, routes were diverted, as with bus line 164, which is diverted via the Köpenick town hall, and the stop of line 162 is laid. Significant changes are necessary to take into account the changed timetable, such as Berlin Live
The weather conditions have significantly impaired both the infrastructure and the traffic connection. The German Weather Service warned of heavy rain and hail, which occurred in particular in Berlin and the neighboring Brandenburg counties. With rainfall of up to 35 liters per square meter per hour, there were rapid flooding in many areas, which further tightened the Situation. Despite the adverse circumstances, the number of injuries remained low.
