New information board for the protection of the carp pond in Treptower Park
The carp pond in Treptower Park is a valuable habitat that must be respected and protected by visitors. In a unique initiative, a new information board has now been revealed, which informs visitors about the meaning of the pond and encouraged them to act responsibly.
The carp pond is not only an idyllic place for local recreation, but also an important biotope for many animal species. Unfortunately, the increasing number of visitors are a burden on the pond and its residents. Noise, entering protection zones and the disturbing of the animals endanger the fragile nature of the pond. In order to draw attention to this problem, committed residents have developed an appealing information board in cooperation with the Treptow-Köpenick district office.
The new information board, designed by nature educators and environmentalists, shows the variety of habitat around the carp pond in an informative and aesthetic way. By illustrative representations, visitors illustrate how they can actively contribute to protecting the pond. The inauguration of the information board will take place on Wednesday, August 28, 2024 on the north bank of the pond.
The unveiling of the table is made by district councilor Dr. Claudia Leistner accompanies a greeting to those present. Afterwards there is the possibility to toast with a cool drink and to exchange ideas about the importance of the carp pond when accompanied by musical accompaniment. This initiative shows how citizens can contribute together to protect nature and sensitize the importance of respectful dealings with our environment.
