Telekom is expanding mobile network: improved coverage in the Ludwigslust-Parchim district

Telekom recently made significant progress in mobile phone supply in the Ludwigslust-Parchim district. This expansion, which has been carried out in the past two months, has not only improved the technical infrastructure, but also a direct impact on the quality of life of the residents in the region.

A total of two new locations were built and five more with LTE technology were upgraded. This creates a broader mobile phone cover, which is particularly advantageous in the cities of Boizenburg, Goldberg, Hagenow, Plate, Wittenförden, Wöbbelin and Zarrentin. These new radio stations also ensure a better connection not only in rural areas, but also along important traffic axes such as the A14 and A24 motorways as well as the railway lines between Berlin and Hamburg.

"We are experiencing a constant increase in bandwidth needs, which increases by about 30 percent annually. We therefore intensify our efforts in mobile phone expansion," explains Georg von Wagner, the company spokesman for Deutsche Telekom.

An aspect of this expansion that should not be underestimated is long -term planning. Deutsche Telekom already operates 165 locations in the district and covers around 99 percent of households. By 2026, an additional 61 new locations are to be built in order to further increase the capacities. Extensions with LTE or 5G in the future are already planned at 97 existing locations.

Telekom, however, is dependent on the support of the local communities and the disposal over suitable areas.
