Playgrounds and green spaces in Reinickendorf: Pleasing new openings!
On November 14, 2025, the authorities in Berlin-Reinickendorf reported drastic measures to repair the damage following the previous storms. Over 10,000 claims were recorded this week, with the current level at 10,257 claims. Of these, 2,589 claims have already been ordered or are being processed. Successful progress has been recorded: 5,565 care and felling measures have already been fully completed and over 50% of the playgrounds in the district have been reopened.

Green spaces in the district

However, eliminating the danger spots in the children's forest in the Tegel Forest is complicated. Uprooted trees are at risk of falling onto buildings, which is why specialized technology is required. A specialist company was commissioned to eliminate this danger point by November 28, 2025. Work to repair the damage is also underway in the Im Erpelgrund green area, with over 100 trees felled and more than 100 broken branches recorded. A fence was erected to prevent access to the danger zone. The planned release of the system is scheduled for the end of next week.
