Discover the Big Five of Spandau: fun and win in the old town!

In the heart of Spandau, the event "Big Five of Spandau" will take place from July 1st to 13th, 2025, which invites residents and visitors to an exciting discovery tour through the old town. In an exciting combination of shopping, cuisine, craft, health and culture, the participants can discover five animal motifs, each representing an industry. The motifs are a deer for shopping hotspots, a duck for culinary delights, a fox for craft and service companies, a sheep for health offers and a stork for cultural institutions. This initiative is accompanied by an action flyer that is available in participating shops or facilities.

In order to participate in this exciting event, the interested parties have to collect ten animal stickers or scan QR codes that are hidden in various shop windows in addition to the animal motifs. Anyone who successfully mastered the task has the opportunity to win attractive prices, including Spandau products, vouchers and tickets for special experiences. The price collection takes place from July 15, 2025 in the on-site office of the old town management at Mönchstraße 8, 13597 Berlin. This project is part of a comprehensive marketing strategy that has been implemented since 2020 to revive the old town of Spandau and the Spandau main center in cooperation with a more than ten -member working group of the dealership. The funding is carried out by the urban development of the Federal Ministry of the Interior, for construction and homeland, which underlines the importance of this initiative.

Support for traders

The Altstadtmanagement has been committed to supporting the traders in the old town. The focus is on Sundays, uniform opening times and events that are effective. The aim of these measures is to strengthen the old town as a multifunctional center, which uses historical and geographical potential. In addition, the old town management coordinates actors and optimizes coordination processes to ensure effective public relations.

In 2017 and 2018, the focus was on Sunday -open Sundays that were organized in connection with the popular Dutch material market. This market attracts numerous visitors twice a year and thus contributes to the frequency increase in the old town. After the restrictions by Corona pandemic in 2020 to 2022, various measures were taken to support the business processes and provide relevant information.

city marketing for a living old town

As part of the city marketing, it is aimed at positioning Spandau as a lively and attractive location for residents, visitors and companies. Events such as city festivals and cultural events play a central role. These not only strengthen the bond with the city, but also promote the local economy through targeted measures that attract companies. Stadtmarketing is therefore closely linked to the local actors to develop sustainable concepts that strengthen the identity of the city and shape the image of the old town.

Against this background, the attractiveness of the old town of Spandau will also be promoted in the coming years, including a Christmas campaign and other initiatives. The goal is clear: to revitalize the old town as a lively and inviting center and to increase its level of awareness in the region and nationally.
