Open town hall day: Fairtrade city district Reinickendorf 2024

The town hall in Reinickendorf will open its doors for everyone interested next weekend. On September 21, 2024 from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m., the open town hall day takes place, in which visitor has the opportunity to get an insight into the work of the district administration and to find out more about various services and career opportunities.

A special highlight on this day is the official certification of Reinickendorf as a Fairtrade city district. This means that the district has fulfilled the criteria as a Fairtrade Town and thus strengthens fair trade at the local level. The celebrations for certification take place as part of the day of the open town hall and include a presentation of the most important milestones on the way to Fairtrade certification.

District Mayor Emine Demirbüken-Wegner will officially open the event at 2 p.m. and announce the title of the Fairtrade city district of Reinickendorf. Visitors also have the opportunity to try fair trade products, to exchange ideas with members of the steering group and to learn more about the background of the Fairtrade engagement in Reinickendorf.

In addition to information and hands-on offers, there are a diverse program for visitors of all ages at 25 information stands of the offices and district fractions, as well as in various emergency vehicles and buses. A varied cultural program, short concerts, tours and activities for children complete the offer.
