Reinickendorf athletes are honored for their successes

Last Friday, July 12, 2024, more than 500 talented athletes from Reinickendorf came to the sports facility on Scharnweberstraße/Uranusweg to be honored by district mayor Emine Demirbüken-Wegner and sports city councilor Harald Muschner for their outstanding achievements. A total of 123 gold, 67 silver and 328 bronze medals were awarded to the successful athletes from over 30 different sports clubs.

The district mayor not only praised the sporting success, but also the variety of sports that are represented in Reinickendorf. She emphasized how proud she was that five athletes from the district were even nominated for participating in the Summer Olympics in Paris. This is a great honor for Reinickendorf and shows the high quality of local sport.

The sports city councilor Harald Muschner was also impressed, who emphasized how important the continuous investment in sport and sports facilities in the district was. He promised that this support would continue in the future in order to continue to honor successful athletes from Reinickendorf.

Special thanks went to the volunteer club members, trainers who made the success of the athletes possible with their tireless efforts and cohesion. The district mayor recognized her important role as the heart of the clubs and as the cornerstone of social cohesion in the district.
