Successful fight against scrap bikes: Reinickendorf cleans up
In the past few months, the Reinickendorf regulatory office has successfully acted against unpleasant scrap bikes in the district. A total of 467 such bikes were sighted and documented, of which 281 were removed. This was carried out in collaboration with the Berlin city cleaning companies (BSR) and has contributed to significantly improving urban sovereignty. In addition, the employees of the regulatory office handed over three scrap bikes that were on the police's search list for further review.
It is important to note that not every carelessly left bike should automatically be considered as a scrap bike. There are clear guidelines for checking such cases that ensure that property rights are respected. If a supposedly abandoned bike is found, it is registered and provided with a yellow sticker that asks the owner to remove the bike within 14 days. If the bike has still not been picked up after the deadline, it will be removed by the regulatory office and the BSR.
District Councilor Julia Schrod-Thiel thanked the workers of the field and the Berlin city cleaning for their commitment and emphasized that the efforts to continue to continue scrap bikes to keep Reinickendorf clean and secure. Citizens can submit reports about the "Ordnungsamt-Online" app.
