Alpha alliance Reinickendorf: Commitment to illiteracy in Tegel

new education initiative in Berlin has reached many adults

In an impressive campaign, the Alpha alliance Reinickendorf, together with the Alfa-Mobil last Thursday, informed the residents of Tegel about how important it is to be able to read and write properly as an adult. They were supported by prominent guests such as educational city councilor Harald Muschner (CDU) and Thomas Harms, superintendent of the Evangelical Church Circle, as well as by two learning ambassadors who once had to struggle with reading and writing problems. One of them, Gerhard Prange from the Märkische Viertel, told how he decided to help others after finding how many people are in the same Situation as he.

The campaign took place in cooperation with various educational institutions, including the adult education center, Chance Berlin and the new neighborhood center Borsigwalde. Interested parties were able to find out more about advice centers and learning offers in the district. Sandra Krüger from the Face Family Center, which coordinates the Alpha alliance Reinickendorf, had launched the initiative. The alliance now has 24 partners in Reinickendorf and works closely with the adult education center and the city library to support adults in reading and writing.

The Alfa-Mobil is part of the national campaign "Better read and write" makes you proud ", which draws attention to illiteracy in Germany and informs about it.
