In the district court of Wedding, almost 50 people gather to pursue the trial against Manfred Moslehner. The 84-year-old is brought to court after almost 14 years of fight because the investor, who acquired the settlement in Berlin-Reinickendorf, urged a modernization and submitted a clarification against him. Moslehner, a former machine locksmith who lives alone and draws a modest pension, is confronted with the possible evacuation from the house in which he has spent his whole life.

The history of the settlement on Steinberg dates back to the 1920s when working -class families lived there and now fight against the investor's modernization plans. Many tenants did not survive the fight while their houses were renovated and sold.

Moslehner defended itself against the investor's modernization plans, out of concern that the rent is no longer able to pay. Despite the necessary work in the house, he refused to not have to risk losing his home. In court, the tragic situation in which Muslehner shows no willingness to leave his house because he sees no alternative. The judge warns of the decision that is existential for Moslehner - stay or go.

The emotions are noticeable in the courtroom when the judge requested time to make her decision. Hartmut Lenz, a Moslehner supporter, leaves the courtroom with tears in the eyes. One last hope is the possible mediation by a member of the Bundestag who could solve the situation between investor and tenant. Canan Bayram from the Greens is involved in this placement attempt to find a solution and to prevent a forced eviction.
