Innovative children's participation in Winskiez: insight into the neighborhood visions
As part of the participation process for the Kiezblock Winskiez, the district office Pankow has introduced an innovative method for child and youth participation. On September 25, the image generative AI with the name "Kiezvisions" of the CityLab Berlin was used for the first time. This step marks a groundbreaking approach to redefine the citizens: to redefine internal participation.
Children and adolescents between the ages of 8 and 18 were invited to go through the Winsviertel on a photo afari. With your smartphones you have captured your favorite places and uncertain traffic areas. These photos were then converted into creative visions for a traffic -calmed and sustainable neighborhood using the AI. The ideas and information of the young participants: inside will flow into the plans of the Pankow district office to improve the living environment for all generations.
In addition to this campaign, online participation for the Kiezblock Winskiez runs until October 5. Interested parties can take part in the corresponding links to Mein.Berlin.de and on the Instagram channel of the Pankower Kiezblocks.
A neighborhood block is an urban residential area in which the car passage is reduced to create a more livable environment. Goals within the quarter remain available, while the streets are designed more attractive for your stay.
This new type of citizen participation method demonstrates the pursuit of the Pankow district office to take into account the perspectives of the young generations and to strengthen their voice in the design of the urban habitat.
