New residential area in Wedding: 943 apartments for studying and care!
In Berlin-Wedding, a new residential area is being built on Iranian street, which is realized by the state-owned housing association Berlinovo. According to Berliner Zeitung , a total of 943 apartments are built there. This project marks an important development in an area that was previously shaped by a demolished retirement home that was closed in 2020.
The planned five buildings are built in an open construction and include a living space of around 29,000 square meters. The completion of the entire complex is planned for the second quarter of 2026. Each of the buildings will have five to six floors and offer both single and two-room apartments that are fully furnished and have a kitchenette and their own bathroom.
focus on different target groups
The apartments are aimed at different target groups, including students, seniors and health care employees. It should be emphasized that a large number of apartments are designed to be barrier -free and in line with senior citizens. Some of these apartments are even wheelchair -friendly and offers the residents balconies or terraces for individual use.
The design also provides for community space and encounter areas. These are intended to promote the social exchange and coexistence of the different residents, which can result in a lively and integrative living environment. The outdoor facilities are also attractive to invite both for lingering and for sporting activities.
good connection and infrastructure
Another advantage of the new residential area is the excellent connection to public transport. The subway stations Osloer Straße and Nauener Platz are near the walk. In addition, the Berlin University of Applied Sciences and the Charité Campus Virchow can be reached quickly, which makes the neighborhood particularly attractive for students and specialists.
This construction project is part of a comprehensive city -wide strategy of Berlinovo, which provides for a total of 6,000 apartments for students in Berlin by 2026. In Prenzlauer Berg, Berlinovo has successfully implemented a similar project for Charité employees. The construction site on Iranian street will shape the cityscape in the coming months, while the preparations are progressing to complete the neighborhood.
With this initiative, another step to improve the living space in Berlin is done, especially at a time when the need for affordable living space increases steadily. The combination of appealing living space and a well thought -out infrastructure concept could thus be a pioneering example for future projects in the capital.
