After a summer break, the “last generation” is back and is already planning a new protests for this week. The climate activists want to go on the streets again in order to draw attention to the urgent need for measures to protect climate protection. In the period from July 15th to August 6th, they had previously planned a “community period” in which they were able to take a break and recharge their batteries.

The activists have already announced protests in different cities for this week. A protest march on Potsdamer Platz will take place in Berlin. Actions are also planned in Regensburg, Oldenburg, Nuremberg, Hamburg, Mannheim, Dresden and Munich. Constance will then be affected at the weekend. The “last generation” would like to set a sign again and increase the pressure on political decision -makers.

It gets particularly serious in autumn when the “last generation” wants to bring its protests to the capital Berlin again. Already in May they announced this project and chose big words. From September 13th, they all want to flock to the social turning point in Berlin in order to stand up for changes and to regain democracy.

However, the law enforcement agencies have so far initiated at least 142 investigations against drivers or passers -by due to attacks on environmental activists. In most cases, this is the accusation of bodily harm. It is also determined for alleged coercion and insult. However, security experts assume that the actual number of attacks is even higher, since the participants of the blockades rarely file a criminal complaint.

The "last generation" continues to work with great commitment to climate protection and would like to bring about political changes with its protests. By returning to the streets, they want to set a strong sign again and emphasize the urgency of climate protection. It remains to be seen what effects your actions will have and whether you can initiate a broad social and political discussion.
