Planting for the Gertraudenhain: Art project on Leipziger Strasse starts
The district mayor of Mitte, Stefanie Remlinger, announced the first art project in a press release as part of KISR - art in urban space on Leipziger Strasse. A forest pedagogical planting project is carried out at the Spitteleck on the road. The planting campaign, which takes place on April 11, 2024, will be carried out in cooperation with children from the Froebel-Kita Schatzinsel and the Miya Forest e.V. association. From 12 noon, the neighborhood and all interested parties are also invited to participate in the campaign and together to grow the "Gertraudenhain".
The "Gertraudenhain" is a sculptural intervention by the artist Christof Zwiener and is to be created in the middle of a urban space burdened by air and environmental pollution from Berlin-Mitte. The KISR-Art project in the urban space on Leipziger Straße is part of Pop-up Mitte of the Middle of Berlin and is financed through the federal program "Sustainable inner cities and centers" of the Federal Ministry of Housing, Urban Development and Building, as well as the recommendation of the advisory committee of Art (BAK) from all-down cities from the Senate Administration for Culture and Social Cohes
