Preventive Berlin home visits: Senate administration praises expansion
In the current week of loneliness from June 17th to 23rd, 2024, the Senate Department once again emphasized the neighborhood project "Berlin Haus Visits" in Marzahn-Hellersdorf. The offer is aimed at people in old age and offers information for a vital and active life. The project was launched as a pilot project in 2021 and has now been extended to all districts due to the success.
The district councilor Juliane Witt praises the results of the evaluation and thanks the Senate Department for Science, Health and Care and the Maltese relief service for the support. Although there was a gap before that two supervisors had left the district, two project employees are now working on site. The aim of the project is to prevent loneliness preventively and to offer individual support.
The Berlin home visits inform citizens from the age of 70 about the various opportunities to actively participate in life. On request, pilots will be sent to the Malteser to carry out a home visit to offer tailor -made information and support.
The preventive project is an important instrument to counteract social isolation in old age and to promote participation in social life. Interested parties can report to a home visit in Marzahn-Hellersdorf at (030) 348 003-251 or by email.
