Breaking Points: New exhibition opens in Berlin's gallery

On Monday, May 27, 2024, the exhibition "Breaking Points" opens in the RK - Gallery for Contemporary Art in the Ratskeller at Möllendorffstrasse 6, 10367 Berlin at 7:00 p.m. The artist Ila Wingen and the artists Steffen Blunk, Michael Koch and Jochen Schlick show works that reveal hidden layers in their "Breaking Points". The exhibition runs until August 14, 2024 and is open from Monday to Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

In the works of the artists you will find breakage and refraction that invite the audience to develop their own interpretations and associations. With their works, the artists challenge visual habits and encourage them to critically look at existing conventions. This process gives the opportunity to reflect on personal attitudes and habits.

The accompanying program for the exhibition includes an artist discussion on Monday, June 10th, at 7 p.m., moderated by political and cultural journalist Hans Jessen. On Monday, July 1st, the workshop "picture change" with Ila Wingen and Steffen Blunk will take place from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., in which artistic works are considered to discuss various perspectives. All artists are present for the finissage on Wednesday, August 14th, at 7:00 p.m.

Ila Wingen, Steffen Blunk, Michael Koch and Jochen Schlick have been working together for a long time. The common basis of your work is the figurative representation that you implement in different ways. While Wingen and Blunk deal with painting and installations, Koch uses the sculpture and Schlick digital media. The interaction of these different artistic positions creates an art in dialogue that actively integrates the viewers.

The exhibition not only offers the opportunity to look at fascinating works of art, but also to take part in discussions and workshops in order to look at and interpret the works from different perspectives. So it promises a versatile and inspiring experience for art lovers and interested parties.
