Help for displaced people in Lebanon: Johanniter urgently provide resources

The situation in Lebanon is catastrophic! A dramatic escalation of violence has shaken the country in the past few days. Heavy air strikes not only destroyed buildings, but also brought a lot of suffering over people. Overcrowded hospitals are desperately fighting for the medical care of countless injuries, including many children who urgently need help.

Roy Joude, the Johanniter program coordinator in Lebanon, warns: "The daily bombing from the air reminds me of the devastating war in 2006. I am afraid that thousands of people will fall victim to this war again." People have been severely weakened by years of economic crisis. Food and rental prices shoot up- poverty, hunger and homelessness are now threatening to take effect. Many flee violence and find insufficient protection in emergency accommodations such as schools or churches.
