GESOCAMPUS: Newly built house for students in Hellersdorf

The state -owned housing association Gesobau has built a new house especially for students in Hellersdorf. The residential building called Gesocampus is located in Kastanienallee 51 and offers space for a total of 84 students in 40 rental apartments and shared apartments.

The students have the choice of between 30 one -room apartments and ten shared apartments, each with three or six residents. In addition to the apartments, the students have rooms for learning together, exercising and relaxing.

The rental prices start at a flat share at 480 euros warm per month. This price includes warm and cold operating costs, WLAN and TV connection, advance payments for the tenant current and the use of different common areas.

The one -room apartments are 24 to 28 square meters in size and have a pantry kitchen with a ceramic hob, refrigerator, microwave and sink as well as a separate bathroom with shower. The monthly rental price for these apartments is 510 euros warm.

The shared apartments for three students are around 79 square meters, with each room having 15 to 18 square meters. The shared apartments for six people are around 149 square meters, with each room having around 16 square meters. There are a total of two apartments for three people and eight apartments for six people.

In the shared apartments there is a community kitchen with a ceramic hob, oven, refrigerator, dishwasher, sink and a table and chairs. Some shared apartments also have balconies. Each shared apartment is rented individually and has its own bathroom and its own locking system on the room door. Each resident receives their own rental agreement.

In the Gesocampus there are various common areas with English names. "Study & Socialize" offers two learning rooms with workplaces and multimedia care. "Read & Relax" is an area with seating, coffee bar and bookshelves. "Wash & Workout" offers washing machines and dryers as well as a sports area. "Game & Get Together" includes a billiard table and a kicker. On the roof terrace there is the area "chill-out side" with a view of the neighborhood.

The Gesocampus is part of the Stadtgut Hellersdorf district and is located in a residential complex with a total of 448 rental apartments. The construction project was completed in spring 2023 and is currently in the rent. With the U5 subway line you can quickly be in downtown Berlin. The next stop is Hellersdorf station.

The range of housing is aimed exclusively at students who are enrolled at a state or state -recognized university or university in Berlin or Brandenburg. Appropriate evidence must be submitted together with the application documents. The rental of the shared apartments takes place independently. If several students want to move into a shared apartment together, a corresponding note can be specified in the application documents.

Important: The tenancy is generally limited to 24 months and can be extended once by one year. It is not possible for early termination of the rental agreement. Before signature under the rental agreement, every tenant should therefore be aware that he wants to live there for at least two years.

According to Gesobau spokeswoman Birte Jessen, there are already many prospective registrations. Students who are still looking for an apartment can contact Gesobau at short notice. The required documents include a certificate of enrollment, a BAföG notice or a maintenance confirmation.
