Seniors as a target: Tricksters use false identities in Berlin!
Yesterday there was a wave of seven brazen thefts in Berlin that kept the police on their toes. In the Zehlendorf district, three men rang the doorbell of an 83-year-old at around 4:45 a.m. and pretended to be police officers. While one of the perpetrators distracted the elderly woman with a “prevention talk,” the accomplices quickly searched the house and stole a four-figure amount of money before fleeing.
Chapter two in Charlottenburg: At around 9:15 a.m., a fake craftsman introduced himself to an elderly couple as a savior in their time of need. While he was keeping the 91-year-old busy, an accomplice grabbed valuable jewelry. Another victim was an 87-year-old in Prenzlauer Berg who was taken by surprise by two supposed antenna repairers. The major attack on senior citizens continued around 11 a.m. in Mitte when two fraudsters posing as electricians stole their valuables from unsuspecting elderly people. The trick thieves also raged in Wilmersdorf and Wedding, leaving behind shocked victims who were cheated out of their money and valuable memorabilia.
