Festive anniversary in Friedenau: Focus on the past and future

A festival of diversity: Friedenau celebrates its 150th anniversary

In the heart of Berlin, the Friedenau district recently celebrated its 150th anniversary. This special reason brought the community together to celebrate the rich history of the district and at the same time take a look into the future. District Mayor Jörn Oltmann praised the celebration as a "worthy festival, by peace rifles for peaceers".

During the anniversary, numerous clubs, institutions and initiatives proudly presented their activities at stands. From the Alliance for Democracy Friedenau to Friedenau TSC 1896 to the Evangelical parish to the good shepherd - the diversity and community spirit were clearly noticeable.

Musicians and dancers from Friedenau enriched the colorful stage program with their performance. A special moment was the solemn star march of the trombone choir from the church to the good shepherd to the Breslauer. In addition, two informative discussions about the past, present and future of the lively district took place, in which prominent guests such as Michael Rudolph and Leandro Burgdorff took part. Moderator Doreen Herbe confidently guided through the varied program.

A trip to the history of Friedenau

In 1874, Friedenau was awarded the status of a rural community by Kaiser Wilhelm I. The foundation stone for the community was laid three years earlier, which derived its name from peace after the Franco-German War and the rural Aue.

The anniversary of Friedenau was not only a celebration, but also a sign of strength and unity within the community. It illustrated the importance of history, tradition and cohesion that make the district a unique and lively place. This anniversary will not only look into the past, but also show ways for a promising future.
