Fair week 2024 in Mitte: Climatic justice and fair trade in focus

The district mayor of Mitte, Stefanie Remlinger, recently presented the program for fair week 2024, which under the motto "Middle Fair. And no more degrees!" stands. From September 13th to September 27th everything will be about climate justice and fair trade.

diverse program for all interested parties

The "Mitte Fair & Sustainable" campaign alliance has planned a wide range of events that focus on an important topic: climate justice and fair trade. An open-air exhibition on the Amazon, exchanges of clothing and a vegan info brunch are just a few of the activities that are offered.

panel discussions and workshops

In addition to exhibitions, discussion rounds and workshops also take place. For example, the fair trade with African countries, climate justice in clothing production and mobility concepts is informed in an international comparison.

commitment to a better world

The "Mitte Fair & Sustainable" campaign alliance is made up of various actors, including representatives of clubs, organizations and initiatives. Together they are committed to a more sustainable and fairer world and invite all interested citizens to take part in the diverse events.

Interested parties can also actively contribute by networking with the alliance, starting cooperation and implementing joint actions. Participation is simply possible with an email to fairtrade@ba-mitte.berlin.de.

Fair week as an impulse provider

The fair week has been inviting people in Germany to deal with fair trade for over 20 years. With around 2,000 actions a year, it is the largest action week of fair trade in Germany. This makes an important contribution to the sensitization and promotion of sustainable consumer decisions.

The project is financed by means of the “District Fund to promote development cooperation” of the State Office for Development Cooperation at the Senate Department for Economics, Energy and Companies as well as funds from the Mitte district office.

Further information on the events and dates are available on the website of the municipal development policy. Interested media representatives can contact the press office of the Mitte district at press@ba-mitte.berlin.de if you have any questions.
