The tours take place on two dates, on July 15, 2025 and August 5, 2025, each at 5 p.m. The participants have the opportunity to experience a two -hour tour through the urban area under the direction of art historian Liesa Andres. The starting point is Spitteleck / Wallstraße 1, 10117 Berlin, and the end point is in the pedestrian underpass, Leipziger Straße 60 and 45, 10117 Berlin. The route comprises 0.5 kilometers and participation is free of charge.
public space and art
The free and public accessibility of art in urban space is seen as an essential part of the democratic self -image of Berlin. Artists have increasingly turned to public space for decades to address historical, social and architectural aspects. This form of art creates forums for socially relevant topics that are publicly discussed and reflected on.
Art in urban space interrupts the urban river and opens up new perspectives on the surrounding area. It takes up existing stories in the urban space, continues to tell or overwrites it and thus creates new references and relationships. This contributes to the cultural diversity and identity of Berlin and encourages citizens to deal with their city.
