Düsseldorf, Deutschland - The German artist and painter Günther Uecker died on Tuesday, June 10, 2025, at the age of 95 in Düsseldorf. The city of Düsseldorf confirmed his death about social media and praised him as one of the most famous contemporary artists.
Uecker was born on March 13, 1930 in Wendorf, Mecklenburg. He came from an engineering family and experienced the last years of the war of the Second World War and the occupation by the Red Army. Uecker remained closely connected to Berlin even after reunification.
