perfectionism or procrastination
Psychologist Sonja Rohrmann explains that the Impostor syndrome is not an isolated case. Affected people either tend to be perfectionist to compensate for their supposed weaknesses, or they push activities out of fear of failure. Even if you are successful, you do not draw any self -confidence from it. These feelings are most frequently found in people in professions in which success is difficult to measure.
According to studies, between 50 and 70 percent of people should be familiar with this phenomenon. In conversations with various subjects, Windscheid examines the discrepancy between foreign and self-perception. The participants consider themselves less successful than their environment.A successful manager shows Worscheid how he deals with self -doubt and accepts it as part of his personality. Van der Horst also emphasizes that without his self -doubt he would not have come where he is today.
The documentation not only illuminates the widespread nature of the Impostor syndrome, but also gives those affected a voice that share their experiences. It also explains the origins of this self -doubt and its effects. After viewing, it becomes clear that you are not alone with these self -doubt.
