The official handover of the new trams in Cottbus took place on Friday, August 15, 2025. These modern railways are now allowed to promote passengers and are part of a comprehensive renewal of local public transport in the city. Challenges and training

Nevertheless, Cottbus traffic received approval for all 22 new trains, although not all of them are yet delivered.
Around 85 drivers from Cottbus traffic had to be trained to deal with the new trams. The need for new trams is particularly high because many of the old vehicles can hardly be used or not at all. Cottbus traffic had turned to other cities in the past time to borrow trams.

The new trains will be delivered piecemeal, with the aim of all of them running in Cottbus by the end of 2025 or beginning of 2026.
