Citizens' Report: Large police officer at Hass demo in Berlin Sonnenallee!

Yesterday a hate demo took place on Sonnenallee in Berlin. Around 100 students from the Ernst-Abbe-Gymnasium took part, accompanied by a large contingent of 300 police officers. The demonstration was stopped for a short time when some participants shouted slogans, which was prohibited by the demonstration alarm. The burning of flags was also prohibited from the organizers.

The demonstrators led a poster with the inscription "Schools to Resistance, Freedom for Palestine". They shouted slogans like "Free Palestine" and "Viva Palestine".

A few weeks ago there was an incident at the high school when a student unrolled a Palestine flag and then there was an argument with a teacher.

The demo did not reach its planned goal, the Kottbuser Tor, but already dissolved at Hermannplatz. The hope of the participants to stimulate further passers -by to participate was not fulfilled.

At the same time, a propalestinic demo with 1200 participants took place on Wednesday evening on the Kurfürstendamm, in which there was also violating conditions. The police accepted the personal details of six people.

The demo on Sonnenallee and the subsequent incidents show that the conflict between Israel and Palestine continues to lead to tensions here in Berlin.
