Shock in Köpenick: Five injured in dramatic traffic accident!
Five people were injured in a dramatic traffic accident in Köpenick last night when a 65-year-old VW driver raced into the intersection of Hoppendorfer Straße and Kaulsdorfer Straße and collided with a BVG bus on line 169. The bus, driven by a 39-year-old driver, had the right of way and was traveling on Kaulsdorfer Straße in the direction of Gehsener Straße. The impact was so severe that both vehicles left the road and crashed into a fence.
The VW driver had to be freed from his car by the fire department and was taken to hospital with serious leg and upper body injuries. The bus driver suffered shock but was released after treatment. Among the passengers on the bus, a 17-year-old and two men aged 24 and 54 suffered minor injuries and were treated at the scene of the accident. The intersection remained closed until 9 p.m., which also affected local public transport. The traffic investigation service has taken over the investigation.
