70 years of marriage happiness: anniversary of a love from East Prussia in Reinickendorf

Gertrud and Alfred Karkowski, a couple from Stuttgart-Bad Cannstatt, who has lived in Reinickendorf for over 50 years, recently celebrated their wedding anniversary after they gave themselves the marriage promise 70 years ago. The story of the two is one that is shaped by love, cohesion and happiness.

Alfred Karkowski was lured many years ago by a job offer in a professional information bus from Stuttgart to Berlin, where he finally found his professional home in the State Statistical Office, today's Office for Statistics Berlin-Brandenburg. In the meantime, Gertrud Karkowski lovingly took care of the upbringing of her two children and the well -being of the family, which made her a strong and loving matriarch.

The Karkowski family has grown over the years by two grandchildren who celebrate the proud anniversary of the happy couple together with their parents and grandparents. On the occasion of her special day, Dominik Lindhammer, the head of the department for senior citizens, brought warm congratulations and a flower greeting on behalf of the district mayor Emine Demirbüken-Wegner and the Reinickendorf district office.

The story of Gertrud and Alfred Karkowski is an inspiring memory of the power of love and cohesion that continues so many decades. May their happiness and their connection continue to last for many years and serve as a role model for others.
